On January 2nd (today) Polk Works and the Race to Place Partners will be kicking off the initiative to place at least 10,000 job seekers into jobs in the first half of the year with ribbon cuttings and Starting Line, a job seeker open house event across Polk County. Employers please note: You can make a real difference in the success of this effort by listing all your job openings at the “Employ Florida” site. There is no charge for you to list.
From 9am to 4pm job seekers may meet one-on-one with a career specialist for resume review, mock interviews, and job search assistance. Professional dress is encouraged as employers will be onsite. No appointment is necessary.
Individuals that have an interview scheduled, or wish to interview onsite on January 2nd, may also receive a 24 hour/ one day bus pass provided by Citrus Connection and the Winter Haven Area Transit and access to a clothing closet that provides free professional attire. Men may also receive a voucher for a free haircut at a local barber.

We are offering training for anyone looking to be employed as a security guard.
To work in Florida you must first start out with earning the class D license ( unarmed ) the if you wish to work as an armed guard you need the G license.
Class for the D license starts this January 21,22,23 and 28. This will fulfill the required 40 hours of training. Class is held from 8am to 6 pm.
