Look for a very popular and successful convenience/fuel store named “Wawa” to build a 5,500 square foot store with an eight-island fuel station at 1490 3rd Street SW — former home of Cypress Lincoln Mercury. The site will be cleared and all new construction will occur. Todd Dantzler with Choice-Dantzler Properties has handled the sale of the property.
“Wawa” is a Native American word for the Canada Goose that was found in the Delaware Valley, that’s why the company uses the goose on Wawa’s corporate logo. The company specializes in freshly made sandwiches, salads and its signature coffee. Here’s a few details about the organization …

Most stores are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Winter Haven location will employ 30-40 associates. The engineering firm handling the project is Stillwater Technologies from Orlando, FL. Construction should begin this spring.
Wawa employs 16,000 associates throughout portions of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia — and now Florida.

Carol and I being from PA. and NJ. are so excited! This is something that we grew up with! We welcome them with open arms! Winter Haven has no idea what it is getting as they put a whole new spin on convenience stores… Thanks for keeping us up to date Bob!

Many of my friends who live in the Penn., N.J., Maryland area have been telling me what a wonderful addition WaWa will be to the Winter Haven community. They tell me the food is fresh, healthy, and delicious. I’m excited to welcome WaWa to Polk County.

yes it is good but it is going to hurt other small business.
I was on WAWA’s website and they do not list Winter Haven as a future Florida location. Did something in the plans change? Anyone know?
According to our information this project is still moving forward. WAWA may not list locations until they are in operation.
More Job opportunities… wonderful news, hopefully they will be reasonable on Gas prices!
