    Can you be more specific?

  2. Bill Johnson says:

No one wants to talk about the issue with the Citrus Festival???????

  3. Sure, I’ll talk about the The Citrus Festival. It has declined over the years, and so have the attendance numbers. There are reasons that people have stopped going, one of which is that the festival has become seedy and not a place people want to take their kids.

  4. Bill Johnson says:

The Citrus Festival has no support from the Citrus Commission or Florida Citrus Mutual. You would think these organizations are run by politicians. Maybe we should have a Polk County Fair only. The people that operate the festival are hard working people and have tried for 10 years to make it work. The cooking contest, animal show for kids to participate and karoke contest are big hits. What will happen to these now?

  5. Let’s get back to the newspaper discussion. What’s the big announcement? Are you alluding to changes the News Chief or the Ledger? Either? Both? The News Chief was recently sold to GateHouse Media. Now what? Real people work at those places and they have families and bills. If they don’t know what’s going on, maybe someone could enlighten us via this forum. Someone knows something or the tease would not have started this page.
