The Police Chief Application Review Committee met today (June 11) to choose the top five applicants for Winter Haven Chief of Police. Those on the shortlist were chosen from a field of 15 qualified applicants. Names of the top five finalists will be forwarded to City Manager for review and interviews. In alphabetical order, those on the shortlist are:

Joe Halman
Gary Hester
Wayne Miller
Paul O’Connell
Interviews are expected to be scheduled June 14-25, with a conditional offer possibly by June 28. Announcement of the City’s new Police Chief is expected about July 9.
