Why is the boat parade not going thru the Lake Canon / Lake Mirror canal this year??

  2. Beth,

Thanks for your question. At the advice of law enforcement and review of feedback from the parade in years past, the decision was made not to go into Mirror and Spring this year. The canal can still be difficult for many of the boats to get through. In addition we received feedback from participants that going into Mirror and Spring made the parade much too long. Last year, as I understand it, several boats dropped out of the parade before it was over due to the time commitment.

  3. Beth Jordan says:

That stinks, my dad lives at that canal and we watch it every year there (except. The years there was no I hope we can at least see them from his dock. ????

  4. It’s still going around Cannon so if you have a vantage point that lets you see the end of the canal from your Dad’s you should still be able to see it. It’s a blessing that the lake levels are so high (we all remember the draught years!) but it does cause a different set of challenges for the parade.

Are you going to post the judge’s results on here?
